The Quitralco fjord is an ancient glacial bed surrounded by mountains, and has a unique vegetation. Quitralco means "Waters of Fire" in the Mapuche language. It is a fjord surrounded by high, snow-covered mountains and impenetrable forest, where the flora surges spontaneously, wild and colorful with ferns, fuchias and foxgloves. Wild rubarb grows by springs and streams, joining a unique and exuberant vegetation in a temperate microclimate, beside a calm and transparent sea.
